Master Line – Wound Rotor Motors
WEGINDO / PRODUCTS / ELECTRIC MOTORS / MASTER LINE – WOUND ROTOR MOTORS

The Master Line Slip Ring Motors stand out for the flexibility of their electrical and mechanical design.
They are versatile motors that allow different configurations and can be applied in harsh environments that demand high resistance and durability, making them suitable for a variety of applications. They make it easy to implement modifications to their designs, in order to make them interchangeable with existing motors, reducing operating costs resulting from downtime to change motors.
They can also be designed for frequency inverter drive, which enables precise speed control as well as high torques during start-up.
Applications:
The Master Line stands out for its concept of versatility, providing adaptable motors capable of offering reliable and dedicated solutions in various segments, such as Oil & Gas, Mining, Cement, Energy, Water & Wastewater, Pulp & Paper, Steel, Marine and Sugar & Ethanol.

Flexibility for interchangeability (plug & play)
Customized or tailormade in their design of electrical and mechanical to meet with the existing motors, cutting down operating cost with downtime for motor replacement project.

High Performance
With the use of modern software that guarantees precision in the design, maximum performance can be achieved with these motors.

Reliability and Robustness
Versatile motors with different configurations suitable for several environments which demand high resistance and durability, adapting to different applications.

Simple and Low Maintenance
Motors can be supplied with the cooling system which vary according to the type of the driven machine, application and environment where they will be installed.

Optimized Design
Use of high-quality manufacturing materials, such as a stator made of silicon steel plates with low specific losses, combined with high quality manufacturing and design optimizations, allow this product line to deliver reduced losses, and consequently high efficiency.

Brush Lifting Device
The brush lifting device has been simplified, with a significant reduction in parts and components, facilitating its maintenance. Constant pressure springs are used, reducing the wear of the brushes.
Motorized Brush Lifting implies important advantages in the performance of the motor throughout the year:
– Avoids constant and premature wearing of the brushes and collector rings.
– Reduces the stop for maintenance and replacement of brushes.
– Avoids the accumulation of dust on the brushes inside the brush compartment, keeping the insulation level of the rotor high.
– Increase the useful life of the brushes, collector rings, and consequently that of the motor.

Liftable brush Holder Control System
A control system was incorporated into the motor, containing the operation logic of the brush lifting system. The goal was to combine a robust and easy implementation project in the application (only 2 input signals and 3 output signals).
The control system has the capability to investigate faults and monitor system operation via integrated HMI, facilitating system maintenance, preventing undue maneuvering in the brush holder system and the main motor drive, and increasing safety in the motor operation.

Brush Compartment
The brush protection box has large inspection windows for both the sides, with easy access for maintenance.
The brushes are positioned on the same side of the inspection window, allowing full access for replacement of the brushes.
IP66 Protection
To withstand the most contaminated environments and ensure the high protection degree of IP66, special seals are used on all mating joints and brush holder mechanical seal.

WISE® WEG Insulation System Evolution
The WEG, WISE® insulation system (WEG Insulation System Evolution) has resulted from using enhanced insulation materials during the production of the electric motor insulation.
The WISE® (WEG Insulation System Evolution) is an advanced motor insulation technology developed by WEG to enhance performance, particularly in demanding applications such as those using Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) or Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
